In her story there is no Journalist named Mikael Blomkvist and she is certainly not a rebellious computer hacker with an awesome last name such as Salander. There’s no team to investigate the unsolved disappearance of wealthy Henrik Vanger’s or his teen niece.
No, in this story no one is trying to uncover dark secrets about a powerful family. In this story there is only a girl with a semicolon tatoo who needs to figure out how to pay bills, how to finish homeworks and needs to face the oh-so-scary day by day argument with her son untatooed son about brushing the teeth, combing the hair, cleaning the room.
So right in front of your eyes there is no thriller but if you look deep in it you will find out that this story does indeed thrill from time to time.
