So, Sabina and I, each one on her side of the word and the world, are writing what we call Quilt Poetics. We have tried to connect the dots. We have tried to explain (mainly to ourselves) this way of writing, this patchwork writing we believe in.
But something was missing, for me at least. I gave it deep thought for weeks. And it finally came to me: how to quilt a poetic if you don’t know how to quilt. To quilt or not to quilt is not an option, the option is to quilt or to quilt.
So, starting monday my friend B. will teach me to sew, hand and machine sewing, and soon, depending on how my two left hands behave, I will be doing my own quilt. My very first sign of quilt poetics.
